Vice President, Marketing and Communications

Lisa Lagger is the Vice President, Marketing and Communications for Murer.  She joined the organization from Presence Health, the largest Catholic health system in Illinois, where she served in a variety of executive leadership roles over 20 years.   In her position, Lagger is responsible for strategic development and implementation of marketing programs designed to enhance Murer’s growth goals; she also helps lead the company in supporting its clients’ communications and public relations needs.

An award-winning and experienced leader whose creativity, high energy and highly refined skill set marks her as exceptional, Lisa is a master strategist with deep experience in brand development and story-telling.

Lagger most recently served as Regional Chief Mission Officer at Presence, where she had oversight for mission integration, community health, external affairs and ethics.  Prior to that, she held the role of Chief Relations Officer at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, where her work in marketing, communications, philanthropy, mission services and human resources, not only advanced the Medical Center’s image and reputation, but earned accolades along the way.

Lagger joined Presence in 1996 from the Chicago-based advertising agency, Leo Burnett, following seven years in international public relations for Burnett’s vast Europe/Middle East/Africa and Asia- Pacific network. Previous to that, she was a senior editor for Marshall Field, and Co. Lagger began her career as a public relations specialist at St. James Hospital and Health Centers in south suburban Chicago Heights.

Lagger holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Illinois State University, Normal.  She completed graduate studies in Healthcare Management and Healthcare Ministry Leadership at Loyola University’s Quinlan School of Business, Chicago.  Lagger holds Board positions on the Foundation of Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center and the Portciuncula Center for Prayer, a retreat center operated by the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart in Frankfort, Illinois. She maintains a membership with the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development.
