Beth Hughes is a healthcare administrator with 27 years of progressive and broad healthcare experience. She has spent the last 17 years as a hospital executive. Most recently Beth was the President and CEO of St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, MA.  St. Elizabeth’s is the flagship hospital for Steward Health, an innovative for-profit, fully integrated community care organization and community hospital network with Net Revenues of $2.4B.

Prior to this role, Beth worked for Presence Health for 8 years leaving that organization as the Regional President and CEO for their South Suburban Region which includes its flagship hospital, Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, and Presence St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee.  She previously served as President and CEO of Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center, having been promoted into that position from the Medical Center’s Chief Operating Officer, a role she held since 2007 when she joined Presence Health, the second largest health system in Illinois.

She joined Presence Health from the Elliot Health System in Manchester, New Hampshire, where she held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.  Previous senior leadership roles include Executive Vice President, Ambulatory Services and Managed Care at Optima Health in Manchester, New Hampshire; System Vice President, Ambulatory Services and MSO at Loyola University Health System in Maywood, Illinois and Senior Vice President of Ambulatory Services and Executive Director for West Suburban Health Providers at West Suburban Hospital Medical Center in Oak Park, Illinois. While at West Suburban, she also served as Vice President of Physician Services and Administrator of Cardiac Services. Beth began her career in 1989 as Administrative Resident and later Administrator for Cardiac Programs at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo, NY.
