Murer also advises clients on the requirements for maintaining their Medicare payment classifications and the regulatory structure surrounding billing and reimbursement. This includes, where necessary, assisting clients through the payment reconciliation process.
Over our many years of experience, Murer has worked to license, certify, and accredit many different types of providers in a number of different jurisdictions. Murer has also become adept at obtaining CONs for its clients, having successfully represented hospitals and physician groups in 15 CON states. We have obtained CONs for a variety of facilities from physician operating rooms in surgi-centers to CONs for rehab units, as well as equipment from linear accelerators to proton facilities.
Murer can assist clients in structuring their organizations so as to ensure their compliance with other key regulatory schemes, including the Stark Self-referral Law, the Anti-kickback Statute, HIPAA, EMTALA, and tax-exempt status. Likewise, we also help clients navigate the complexities of a constantly changing regulatory environment by keeping them apprised of the latest rule changes affecting their businesses.
In addition to having a broad array of expertise, Murer has counseled a diverse set of clients as well. Our client list includes the full range of healthcare providers, from small physician clinics to complete hospital systems. Murer is particularly well experienced in advising hospitals, including long term acute care hospitals (LTACHs), on the various regulations affecting their businesses. Furthermore, we have extensive experience with other, more specialized provider types, including inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs), skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), Free-standing Emergency Departments and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) and have provided valuable counsel on the unique regulatory structures regarding those providers.
Murer Consultants offers providers counsel for response to regulatory audits and offers mock surveys to prepare for government investigations. Murer Consultants offers counsel on healthcare regulatory matters that are both broad and deep. We have done so for more than 30 years and will continue to stay at the forefront of a dynamic regulatory environment.
